Reconnecting with the joy of fiction
I spent the last 2 days in Goa with The Ayodhya Alliance, an enjoyable work of fiction, by one of India’s best-selling authors, Ashwin Sanghi; and it reminded me just how powerful great storytelling can be.
This fast-paced thriller seamlessly blends ancient history with contemporary geopolitics, moving between timelines 7,000 years apart. I found myself switching between the book and the India-England Test match, but the book often won.
Amid the noise of our screen-saturated lives, fiction reminds us that sustained attention and creative thinking remain essential skills - both personally and professionally.
If you’ve been looking to return to the habit of reading, this is a great place to start.
