“I Don’t Know” — My Most Valuable Leadership Lesson

I’ve had the privilege of meeting Sri Sri Ravi Shankar a few times. Each time, I’ve walked away struck by his humility, wisdom, and wit. One of his most powerful teachings for me is -
Saying “I don’t know.”

It’s a mindset that reflects:

• Acknowledging how much more there is to learn
• Staying curious and open-minded
• Letting go of the arrogance of “knowing it all”

Even though he has all the answers, with a twinkle in his eyes, he sometimes responds to a questions asked by the audience with “I don’t know” — and that humility has taught me more than any definitive answer ever could.

In a world full of LinkedIn bios declaring self as “visionary leader” or “transformational thinker,” real growth begins with recognizing that we don’t know.

Let’s embrace not knowing.

Let’s know that we don’t know 😊
