Back to School – Class of 87

After 35 years, a few of us from the Class of 1987 reunited at the place where it all began — New English School, Bandra. For a few beautiful hours, time truly stood still as we relived the memories that shaped us: the discipline, the dreams, the drama, and above all, the “damdar dosti” that has stood the test of time.

From the cute (& ‘not so cute’) games we used to play during the breaks to the disciplined silence of classrooms (broken occasionally by the mischief played by some of us), every corner of the school brought back memories that shaped who we are today. We fondly remembered the teachers who kept us in line with strict discipline, friends who felt like family and their families, who became our families.

This journey started for me in 1977 at the age of 5 — I spent 11 formative years within these walls. This school instilled in me values that continue to guide me - hard work, integrity, inclusion and a competitive spirit. Looking back, I’m proud to say those lessons served us all well.

I am deeply grateful to my school — and I always will be.
